Patient Community

In early 2009, The Australian Lung Foundation recognised the need to establish a system that would provide information and educate the general community about clinical trials. This need led to the Lung Foundation developing the Multi-centre Clinical Trials Network (MCTN) Patient Community.

Within the Patient Community you can:

  • register your interest in participating in clinical trials
  • access general information about clinical trials
  • search for trials that are currently being conducted in Australia and New Zealand
  • conduct a feasibility questionnaire to see if you are potentially suitable

If you would like to recieve information or be considered for a clinical trial, please click on the Patients Register below.

Below are some comments from patients who have participated in clinical trials.

'I was really nervous about participating. It was going into the unknown that scared me but the doctors and nurses were so helpful and informative. They treated me really well.'
Patient #90

'It is so important for people to be informed about their treatment options. Every treatment available today is because someone participated in a trial.'
Patient #384

'I participated in a clinical trial not only for my own health but also so that others with the same disease will have a better chance of survival.'
Patient #764

'All treatments I tried did not work. Then my doctor told me about clinical trials. It has changed my life.'
Patient #1028
